3 month into studying to be a hypnotherapist
And so I now have 3 months of study under my belt, I wanted to share some of what I’ve learned and consolidated into my practice so far. First of all let’s mention about the wonderful group of people I share my studies with. In any learning environment this has to be one of the most important things for me; people who have already showed themselves to be supportive, open, fun to be around and of course dedicated to doing all they can to learn how to assist others in bringing about positive change in their lives. The training centre, based in the vibrant city of Bristol means that there is a journey to an fro and overnight stay which also lends itself to being in that learning bubble which has such a positive and impactful effect on the learner along with sharing of food, long conversations and making new friends as well as deepening other friendships.
The learning material itself has been paced in such a way that it very much represents a therapeutic process. Learning how to take my peers into deep relaxation dotted amongst the solid nuts and bolts of how the brain works and why hypnotherapy can be an effective tool in helping people achieve their desired change whether that be anxiety, stress, losing weight, healthier lifestyle, giving up smoking or performance based goals to name but a few. The model is solution focused which means that it addresses straight away what the person would like to change or achieve. This is a collaborative process where clients are totally in control but are relaxed. The principle is that we make long standing and effective change when we are relaxed. This makes total sense when we consider what we know about “flow” state and reaching our potential.
Currently I am offering hypnotherapy sessions on Zoom free of charge because I am still a student. If you’d like to experience this wonderful therapy intervention, take the first step and get in touch to arrange an initial consultation.
